Biography: Michelle DeGroat, MD, FACS graduated from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and completed the Wright State University General Surgery Residency Program. Dr. DeGroat is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the American Hernia Society. She is an Associate Clinical Professor at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and is the Chairman of the Premier Health system-wide general service line. Dr. DeGroat is board certified in General Surgery and Breast Ultrasound. Dr. DeGroat specializes in general surgery as well as critical care medicine and robotic surgery. She has a special interest in breast cancer, including high risk breast cancer, and provides breast cancer evaluations and care and performs nipple sparing mastectomies. Dr. DeGroat also focuses on surgical treatment for colon cancer. Her otherareas of interest include hernia repair and complex hernia repair.

Biography: James E. de Caestecker, DO, FACS is a graduate of Boston College and the University of Health Sciences College of Medicine. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Medical Center of Central Massachusetts, The Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Dr. de Caestecker is certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He has a special interest in colon, rectal, and GERD/reflux surgery. He has been associated with Gem City Surgical Associates since 2002.
