Wife and I went for an annual exam & cleaning. We were both brought into separate cubicle / chairs at the same time. Then the Dental hygienists were out to the races. I swear; the cleaning felt like it was a competition between the two. My cleaning was completed in less than 15 mins. With my wife being competed just like 2 minutes after me. That was 15 mins after I had to ask her to stop several times because I was literally drowning with the amount of water that was being pumped into in my mouth. Super clumsy with her dental tools, no regards for patient comfort. No flossing done, no fluoride rinse offered. No eye protection offered. It was a very harsh experience. Then the dentist came in, no introduction, did some quick poking around the mouth and was about to move on to the next patient, when I asked about my annual x-rays. Not quite sure what she mumbled, but made it sound like it wasn’t covered by my insurance; which I then had to explain it was. Then she disappeared for a bit, came back and order the hygienist to complete the byte wing x-Ray. She once again came back and looked at the results; did not offer much feedback. It felt like the dentist was also rushing through the entire process. My wife had same experience. Left us thinking as we left, if we even got a quality cleaning and if the dentist really analyzed the X-rays before reaching the conclusion of everything was good. Poor quality of service; not very reassuring. I would definitely look for another dentist for the next go around. However, I’ll probably need to change insurance as well, there are not that many UHC in network providers here in Puerto Rico.
