This is a kind periodontist in personality. I did leave her practice.
1. After a consult, a tooth had to be removed. The charge was >$500. I asked the assistant at front desk why, she replied, it was surgery. I had the tooth removed by my regular dentist for $50. It was a simple extraction. From my scan, my current periodontist agreed. 2. They stated I needed a periodontal cleaning. It took the hygienist 30 minutes and she complimented me on hygiene. I have them cleaned every 4 months.
I saw no difference in this cleaning. I know the difference. With my current periodontist, it's industrial strength. 3. I then called to schedule a deep gum cleaning on a quadrant. I was informed I had to do the procedures in order of priority established by the Dr. This was to remove an implant, possibly 2, and start the process of replacing them.
I then picked up my CT Scan and went back to my previous periodontist. Total different procedure plan, still have my 2 implants, much happier.
