My childhood was wrought with health issues related to radiation. As such, my health choice is not to do x-rays unless it is an emergency. Village Family Dental Associates said they provide optimal care and takes x-rays every 3 -5 years. It does not say x-rays are mandatory. A friend who at this same office chose not to do x-rays and his dentist complied. A friend who goes to a different practice chooses not to do routine x-rays and her dentist said "up to you." After 15 years of having my teeth cleaned at the Black Earth office as well as undergoing a major tooth transplant to replace a broken tooth (that required x-rays to which I assented) and paying over $10,000 during said period, Dr. Hanna said I was no longer welcomed because I did not want to have x-rays taken. She said "You're dismissed." I will look for a dentist who says "Up to you" instead of "You're dismissed."
