Over-diagnosis & Unreasonable Charges ($400 exam!)
This is not a healthcare professional; this is a salesperson looking to pad a bill with a long list of unnecessary procedures. I recently moved to the area, leaving behind my dentist of 9 years. I haven't experienced more than the occasional cavity during this time. Imagine my surprise when the dentist started listing a range of procedures needed, from deep cleanings and serious gum surgery, to whitening and cosmetic treatments. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, she poked my gums so hard that they bled, calling out 'spontaneous bleeding' to her assistant taking notes. Folks, I floss 3x a day. My gums are bulletproof. This was intentional and malicious. By the time this absurd exam was over, I found that there would be no cleaning. I was shuffled into the waiting room and presented with estimates for thousands of dollars and a bill for a whopping $400 for the exam!
