Dr. Gerard Boquel, DDS

My experience was horrible.I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.I spent thousands of dollars for two useless implants.I endured a lot of pain, a swollen face, and on top of it, a permanent nerve was damaged in the procedure. The implants are constantly irritated and I will never be able to have crowns on those abutments. so I end up with a partial denture.Far better is to throw your money in the toilet and flash it, it will be far less painful and more gratifying.

On the day of my appointment at Dr. Boquel’s office, I was greeted by Dr. Alyssa Dierkes (D.D.S., M.S.) a young dentist, the third perodontist of Dr. Boquel’s busy practice. She sat down, smiled, and we had a friendly and relaxed conversation. I felt comfortable and liked her immediately. I told her that I was worried that doing the extraction would leave an ugly space perhaps one-half a tooth wide between the two bottom front teeth in my mouth. This had prevented me from doing the extraction before. Dr. Dierkes said she had a procedure with which she could close the gap and give it a normal dental look. So after the extraction she would use “composite” material and a process called “splinting” to slightly widen the two teeth on either side of the gap to fill the space. Two weeks later, Dr. Dierkes used a 1 1/2 hour appointment to extract my tooth and replace the gap with a beautifully normal appearing set of teeth. I was astounded and absolutely delighted. Still am.

He extracted a tooth and installed the implant with absolutely no pain! Wonderful caring, friendly and humorous demeaner. I like him a lot. No problems with scheduling or insurance issues. Excellent staff. He's usually booked out three months in advance is the only concern.

“Would I visit this practice or provider again?” Absolutely not! The provider’s “communication style” lacks respect and seriousness. He avoids or waffles over serious questions about timing, costs, alternative or follow-up procedures. This dentist prefers night-time consultations when he calls his patient at home, and there’s little chance for the patient to question procedures. No information is conveyed via the Internet, photographs, etc.

I was referred to Dr. Boquel through my dentist. I went there last week and met with him. He is an excellent Periodontist. He is very confident in what he is doing. You can tell he is an expert in what he is doing and he enjoys his work. Surprisingly, I had zero pain during the whole procedure including the work for numbing the gums. He and his assistant worked together very nicely and the whole procedure went smooth. He gave me three pages for items to do and not do. He has a pleasant personality and he explain the items very well. The front reception was very friendly and organized. The office was clean and very convenient and close to the Highway I-270. I am putting my highest recommendation for his work and his staff.

Over the last two years, Dr Boquel has treated my teenager and the outcome was excellent. He and his staff was patient, kind and made my son and I comfortable during treatment. Even though there was discomfort after the procedures, my son was willing to come back to the office and complete treatment due to Dr. Boquel's rapport with him. WE were totally inform of scope of treatment, procedures, and post op care. WE would highly recommend Dr. Boquel and his wonderful staff to anybody.

Recently Dr. Boquel did 5 implants on the lower part of my mouth. The procedure was pain free. He is so pleasant, making sure at no point was I in pain. He kept checking to see if I was in any way uncomfortable. I think he is wonderful.

Doctor Boquel is an excellent periodontist. His surgery on my quad gums has lasted 15 years with no repeat work, except follow up visits. He is friendly, knowledgeable and applies his skill set well. Also, his entire Staff are professional and friendly. Cannot recommend him any higher.

Waste of my time. I went for consult. He spent about 10 minutes with me. I don't believe he knew the reason/ problem for consult. His solution "Just plop a crown on it" wasn't helpful. The consult note, a brief SOAP note, put words in my mouth, that weren't said by me. No new insights gained by consult. Totally worthless. I wound not recommend him to anyone.

I've had a gum issue since I was in my teens that Dr. Boquel fixed via gum graft. Dr. Boquel is very professional. He also has an amazing support staff.

If your time is valuable, stay clear of this dentist. My original appointment was at 3pm. A day before my appointment, I was asked by there office if I was willing to come in earlier for an appointment at 2:30pm, this was not an issue so I accepted. I showed up at 2:15 to complete new patient paperwork. It took about 5 minutes to complete the paperwork. I waited 40 minutes in the lobby. I was then asked to come back into the dentist area, I waited another 1/2 hour without seeing a dentist.

Boquel has done 2 implants for me. I find his work to be impeccable. He is exacting, conscientious, and very kind.

I have seen Dr. Boquel for both an implant and gum graft procedure, and I would recommend him very highly. Dr. Boquel is very skilled, careful, and thorough in his work and he strives for excellent results. He is considerate of his patients and makes sure you are comfortable through the procedure and asks you frequently Are you doing OK? He has a good sense of humor and carries out his work cheerfully and with confidence and he will put you at ease. He is great!!
