Dr. Harjit Sehgal, MS

Dr. Sehgal is one of the best dental surgeons around. I have been seeing him for over the past 10 years for various gum disease and implant needs. He has successfully helped me keep most of my teeth with amazing treatments while I had many dentists advise me to get all teeth extracted. My dental implant surgeries and bone graftings have all been successful and minimally uncomfortable. He really takes the time to listen and provide care with the utmost respect, empathy, and compassion. I wish there were more doctors like him.

I found Dr Sehgal to be rude, dismissive, disrespectful and condescending during my brief encounter with him at the OHSU dental clinic. I count myself lucky that he was only reviewing my actual dental student care giver, but even so I would not recommend him to anyone I care about. Being a rather happy-go-lucky kind of person I don't easily take such poor behavior to heart - it's just not in my response diadem - but still I would feel very uncomfortable recommending Dr Sehgal to say my grandmother or any one else who might be sensitive or prone to being hurt by ill chosen words and/or snippy comments. From how easily he seemed to spew such hurtful rhetoric I am quite concerned my encounter is not the first time he has used that tone and attitude. If you choose to not heed my warning, might I suggest you wear your toughest skin when you see him. Watching him that day I did see and hear him be kind to some people so I truly believe he can control himself when he wants to.
