Dr. John Tate, DDS

I recently visited for the first time in trying to find a new dentist. The dentist and staff were very nice and professional. My issue and the reason for the low scores is that I have dental insurance. I provided them with my dental insurance details. I was not told "we are out of network and you will be billed for these standard procedures beyond the acceptable out of network amount". I get how insurance works. When I was there, I specifically asked about the x-rays. "Are these allowed more than once a year? Has it been confirmed whether they were done at my last dentist 6 months ago, and will it be an issue if so?" I tried to be an advocate for myself and was told that it was checked out and OK. And then I got a statement for $235 for my standard 6-month cleaning. They did offer me a $100 credit and an explanation that they are not in any network and that I should have been told that. Dr. Tate and his staff are professional, yet warm and friendly. Recently, I had to have two cavities filled and had zero pain during or after my appointment. Dr. Tate has the ability and skill to deliver excellent treatment all while making you feel completely comfortable and at ease (so much so where I almost fell asleep while he was filling my cavities) now that's GREAT dentistry! I could not be more pleased with this office every single time I visit! I definitely recommend Dr. Tate!
