The staff was very welcoming as usual and I had very easy conversation with my hygenist even while she was examining and cleaning. I felt she was being very thorough and efficient.

Dr Rutherford and his staff couldn’t have been better. I highly recommend them. I was visiting Pagosa from out of town and got a bad toothache where I’d previously had a cavity filled. When it woke me up in the middle of the night, I looked for a local dentist and messaged a few. Dr Rutherford replied at 6am, had me come in at 8am, and I was back out the door, after a totally painless root canal, before 11:00. I’m so grateful they made time for me around their existing appointments. They were super-friendly and nice to deal with and the prices were very much in line with what my dentist at home charges.

Very friendly and caring staff, willing to explain and answer my questions. I have been a patient there for years and have experienced the same amazing care consistently. I appreciate the gentleness and quality care I always receive.

This place tried to get me to have crowns replaced that were never an issue. Years later, all crowns still OK. They also created an issue during cleaning. The hygienist was so forceful she cracked a root on my front tooth. It was so traumatic that it caused me to lose trust in dentists. They tend to push gold crowns and fast braces.

Dr Rutherford and staff are professional, personable and precise.Simply perfection.

Dr. Rutherford is disrespectful and rude. I would not recommend him to anyone. I went in for an emergency situation and was treated like it was my fault for waiting so long. While I am very aware that I should have addressed the situation sooner, nobody knows what someone else has and is going through. As I sobbed to him on the phone the day after my appointment due to pain, he word for word said “hindsight is 2020, you should have had these out sooner”. Appalling, I expect compassion and kindness from anyone in a position such as his. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere in town.

I've been seeing Dr. Rutherford for several years. He is a very skilled and knowledgeable dentist. His staff is very professional and knowledgeable as well. He recently fitted me with Fastbraces. I thought I was too old and that my teeth were too crooked. They worked great! I would trust Dr. Jordan with any procedure. I don't dread going to the dentist anymore.

Staff is great, also love the crowns I had placed. I have anxiety with dentists, but Pagosa Smiles accommodated me with dark shades a d music. Keep it up!
