Unprofessional
Dr. Malament performed a procedure that I later discovered was unnecessary. During the procedure at his office, I noticed his hands were noticeably shaking, which left me feeling very uneasy. I am concerned about his ability to practice safely.

Horrible experience
I went to see this dentist 3 years ago with a tooth sensitivity to cold. He assured me I didn’t need a root canal and a crown would fix the problem. He also recommended a new restoration on a tooth to the right to the problematic tooth. I trusted him and agreed to the treatment plan. During the procedure I noticed a few times that his hands were shaking, he struggled and needed help not only from his assistant but also treatment coordinator. He blamed my bad bite for that. He also did a tooth to the left instead of the one to the right claiming he noticed a cavity there while working on the problematic tooth. The crown didn’t help with the sensitivity and a year later the problematic tooth needed a root canal. After that experience I saw two different dentists. None of them saw a need for a new restoration on the tooth to the right. However, the tooth to the left has a large margin left and will need a crown. If you think of going with his office, get a second opinion first.

I have been Dr. Malament’s patient since 1978. Dr. Malament is brilliant and an artist in his very specialized field of dentistry. I have never doubted his judgment or concern for his patients. His staff has always been extremely professional.

Arrogant, histrionic, and ego driven are understatements for Dr Malament and his idea of patient care. Recounting my experience with him is both appalling and re-traumatizing. Upon beginning treatment with Dr Malament he spoke to me less than 3 minutes, offering no input, room for questions or engagement, or a clear idea of what to expect going forward. When I communicated this concern to his treatment coordinator, name here, she became immediately defensive stating " I'm great at my job" rather than offering the information and support that I was politely requesting. I chose to forgive these initial red flags due to their acclaim and assuming that there had simply been a miscommunication. However, this was misguided. On my initial surgery day, when Dr Malament was beginning to give me anesthetics his hand was shaking so noticeably that I was taken a back. Being a nervous patient, I expressed a moment of fear saying, "what is that shaking?" He became so unhinged by this statement th

I had a total reconstruction of my teeth done earlier this year. I would not have undertaken such an extensive amount of work with anyone but Dr. Malament. Having gone to three highly respected dentists and oral surgeons who recommended everything from jaw surgery to braces to tooth extraction, I was thrilled to discover Dr. Malament who is world class and did the necessary work without surgery or braces. My teeth are now beautiful and more importantly, I have a bite for the first time in over a decade.

Dr. Malament runs a very expensive clinic where they cannot even make an appointment properly. I just needed information about an upper prosthesis or denture, and he without listening to me for half a second decided that he needed to take all my lower teeth before doing the upper. My lower was perfectly good. He took a completely unnecessary set of full x-ray pictures to charge me more. Flee from this place: pretentious, incompetent and dishonest.
