You are NOT a *patient* here…you are a commodity for opportunists. Mid-January I was seen. Two visits later I left. I just could not justify making mandatory cash payments when I have excellent insurance. August 8, I requested a complete copy of my medical records. Response: "The fee is $1dll p/page total of 21pages. This does not include the case report...it is 4 pages and a fee of $500 per page.” I tried appealing. Response: “I have consulted my attorney and he concurs that “any expert report would be paid for. Just medical records, the patient is entitled to, but actual reports would be something you charge for.” Conveniently my medical case report is now being termed a 4-page *expert report* worthy of $2000 with NO FOREWARNING whatsoever for a patient to make an informed decision regarding future impact. : When in excruciating pain, in an already weakened state, do you want your care provider to see you as an opportunity to gouge you at the pump?
