Dr. Mark Hegeman, DDS

Pros: great office staff; I felt comfortable that he took great care with safety during the pandemic. Cons: he talks to patients--especially women--in a condescending tone and belittles any questions or concerns; if he cleans your teeth, it will hurt like you've never experienced and he will brush it off. I thought he spoke to everyone that way until I was in an exam room and there was a man in the exam room next to me. I heard Dr. Hegeman speaking and I literally thought it was a different dentist because his tone of voice was so--normal. Then he came in and talked to me in a sing-song and condescending manner, like he always does with me and the previous female patients in the other room. I only stuck around so long because it's so hard to find a dentist and the location was convenient. Goodbye.

Sr. Hegeman was very knowledgeable and efficient.

Terrible terrible bed side manners. Went into his office complaining of a gum abscess. I told him upfront that my gum hurt really bad. He was very rough wit while poking my gum with a dental pick. When I jerked my head to the side due to the excruciating pain, he began shouting at me, telling me that dental visits are going to be painful. This is not the first time he has behaved like this- he is very unpleasant and heavy handed. On top of that he does not want to handle anything more than a basic tooth filling. Anything more than a simple cavity he sends you off. Will never to go to him again.
