Dr. Michael Trofa, DMD

Unfortunately I had a very bad experience with Dr. Trofa. His behavior is kind of erratic and decision making process is very affected by his financial considerations. His office reps are constantly lying referring to him. I was previous in the same Norwalk Surgery with the great doctor McLaughlin. He recently retired. I knew him for more than 20 years and was very happy. I expected that Dr. Trofa has learned from him. Never happened. Trofa might be a good extractor but this is not enough when you start making real serious decisions about your mouth. I was forced to switch to different dental surgery facility.

Trofa is extremely arrogant and cocky. I’d never allow him to perform surgery on me in any capacity. He is dismissive and at one point refused to answer some very important questions and concerns I had. He speaks AT YOU and not to you. I absolutely did not feel safe or confident in his abilities. I got the impression that he may treat men differently. I have never felt this uncomfortable with a dr before. I’m really sorry for this next generation of patients if doctors are being trained to treat them this way. Also, the staff seems a bit confused. I paid a bill by check and they sent it back stating they didn’t know who the patient was. Seriously?? My name is on the check?? They also misspelled my name.

He is knowledgeable in his field. He is however dismissive, explains everything away so doesn't really"hear" you... I didn't feel involved in my care and everybody SHOULD ...

Dr. Trofa understood my issues and explained the process/procedures he would perform during my visit. His positive attitude and ease were comforting to me. All went well. He telephoned me that night to see how I was feeling. I appreciate his professionalism and friendly approach.
