Dr. Robin Hur, DDS

I went for teeth whitening and my teeth did not change one bit at all, it stayed with the same shade I've always had. I went home thinking maybe I just have to give it a little time, brushed my teeth and nothing had changed. I contacted them about this the same day and they said I have to wait. Then I tried calling back 3 different times the day after and they sent me straight to voicemail all 3 times. I went in today (6-11-24), to request a refund from Dr. Hur himself but he completely avoided asking me questions about why I want the refund and seemed like in a rush to get me out of there. Dr. Hur walked away from me in the office, I followed him up to the front to hear him saying, 'this guy' with a laugh off. He then told me that me, my mom and ANYONE in my family are not allowed to go there because I vocalized that I was going to dispute with my bank. I'm a student working and have car payments, I saved up 3-4 months for this procedure, it didn't work and just wanted a refund.

FOR PATIENTS USING DENTIST AS OUT-OF-NETWORK BEWARE: When I called about an implant crown, I was told Dr Hur accepts my insurance, with $500 copay. After putting in the abutment, they told me to pay $2600! I told them other dentists charge $1800 and it's their mistake to misquote. The front desk asked me to pay $900 and said that she would call me after talking to the dr. But they never did. Two weeks later, they said the doctor agreed $1800, plus any refunds from the insurance so I paid $900 more to finish up. My insurance notified me of a $325 reimbursement but when I went to the office, the office said that I owed them $475! They have submitted the insurance for $2600 and I should pay the remaining. When I produced the receipt that clearly stated the total for abutment and placement was $1800, the front desk said it was a language barrier btw the dr and her. They waived the $475 but I don't get my $325. This is very dishonest, even in black and white.

Dental Excellence of New York is a great dental practice. I have seen Dr. Hur about 6 times and he has been taking care of my teeth to my full satisfaction. He works gentle and is very professional. The office is very accommodating towards people who work. I highly recommend this practice!

From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed! Service with a smile is always appreciated! All who dealt with me spoke to me with respect and kindness! If you like good customer service then this is it! I left smiling and it was not only because my teeth were white! ??

Dr Hur is professional, polite, caring and proficient. The office was recommended to me during an broken front tooth emergency. They took me right in. I've been with Dr Hur for 2 years now. I have always been able to get the appointment time and day that I want. I have never been made to wait after arrival time.

Dr Hur is a very professional and friendly dentist . His hygienist is excellent and his staff was also efficient.

He is very humble and honest doctor who I have never met in Queens. All of my family see him now.

I hate to go to dentist, but Dr. Hur has made the experience much easier. Thank you!!! Both of my children also like him and their manager explained every details of insurance over and over again until I understood.

Dr. Huh is a good doctor. He took care of my emergency pain which my regular doctor insisted to pull out and make money for implants around $5000. Dr. Huh saved my tooth and it is still good now. They only charged around $1000.

FOR NEW PATIENT OUT THERE BEWARE- This is not the Dental Excellence, they claimed to be. I consulted Dr Hur in Sept. 9, 2020 for my dental work and in 5 minutes l was finished. Michelle, the in-take Assistant told me that she will call me once they got CIGNA approval. I have no idea what approval they were requesting for. It takes 10-15 max days from CIGNA to get approval. After 14 days passed, l called to follow up. Michelle was so arrogant and very obnoxious when l asked for my approval saying l was impatient. When l reasoned out, she refused to talk - literally stopped talking and became silent .. l said hello hello .. nobody. Then I called back again.. and she put me on hold for 28 minutes. I hang up and I called back 2 times and it was voice mail. Shocking attitude - she was very dismissive, impolite and arrogant. They lied in submitting a request (only in Sept. 24). Now l have to wait for another 10-15 days to get approved. Be careful with this dental office. I CANCELLED!!
