Dr. Sally Gupton, DDS

The following things went wrong during my orthodontic work performed by Dr. Sally Gupton. First of all she pulled two virgin teeth from my mouth to fix an irregular bite which ended up totally changing the shape of my face in a very negative manner. Second she chipped two of my remaining teeth while trying to adjust my bite. Three she ended up dislodging 3 of my preexisting crowns which then had to be redone. Four it took her forever to complete my case so I eventually I ordered her to take off my braces so I could go to someone else. Five when removing the brace cement from one of my teeth she drilled too deep which created a divot on the side of the tooth thru the tooth enamel which has now become discolored.

We took my son to Dr. Gupton. She was professional, courteous and caring. She explained what she would need to do to his teeth and gave us an approximate timeline of how long it would take. My sons teeth are straight, look good and he feels good. Would recommend Dr. Gupton to anyone needing an orthodontist.

As an adult I felt it was time to fix my teeth.My overbite was off by an entire tooth and I would grind my teeth almost every night.After a couple of consultations with other Dr.’s I decided to go with Dr. Gupton.I knew a couple people who had used her and they had a great experience and terrific teeth. I chose to use Invisalign braces since they would be less noticeable and I worked in an office. I got a fantastic result! Dr. Gupton is such a perfectionist! I haven’t had a night grinding my teeth since I had my braces off! I will say Invisalign takes a bit more work than regular braces. Taking them out each time you eat or drink can be annoying, but this was explained to me before I began the process. If you leave the trays on and drink coffee, tea or wine your teeth can discolor. But it’s easy to take them off have your drink and put them back in. Orthodontics is work on the patient end, having a quality dr like Dr. Gupton to guide me and keep track of my progress made it easy!

I love Dr. Gupton! She was my brother’s orthodontist when we were kids. Then when my own teenage son needed braces I took him to Dr. Gupton. She took the time to explain to my son how off his jaw line was and that she had a couple of different ways she could treat him. The 3 of us decided what would work best and she moved forward with his treatment. He has such a stellar smile now! In his freshman year of college he was constantly complimented on how great his teeth look and what a nice smile he has. We trusted Dr. Gupton so much so that we chose her practice, even though we lived 1.5 hours away in New Jersey. The staff was always a pleasure to be around. They always remembered us and were friendly and professional. The front desk staff always worked with our schedule since we had a longer travel time to get there. There is a reason Dr. Gupton has been listed in Philadelphia Magazine Best doctor’s for years. She is a perfectionist when it comes to teeth! We would highly recommen!

I had got braces as an adult,she was totally professional I ended up with teeth straight as an arrow as I had a big gap in the center and ended up with a smile that was like I never had would highly recommend her.

Please consider twice to begin ortho treatment with Dr. Gupton. Her intent in my case was to collect monthly payments only. Besides her behavior is very rude and unprofessional. My ortho treatment with Dr. Gupton was to re-position cross-bite before my restorative work with posterior crowns and 2 implants. Dr. Gupton’s suggestion was to correct cross-bite with Invisalign trays. During ortho treatment I noticed that after 6 months, 12 months, 15 months, 20 months teeth with the same cross-bite, no contact upper teeth with lower teeth, no bite. Before my last appointment I received letter from Gupton’s office she is terminating ortho treatment leaving composite attachments on teeth, with same cross-bite as 20 months ago. In order to finish my restorative work I need to begin ortho treatment from the beginning.

She and her staff filed down my teeth and for three years I wore Invisalign with elastics while my smile got worse and worse. I currently cannot chew because my jaw is so out of line. My teeth are dull and yellow, I have gum recession, and struggle every day with regret. To top it all off, after three years of dishonesty and unsuccessful treatment, her account person Jeanie tried to lie about how much money we paid them in order to not give me a full refund. I am looking into reporting her. I have read at least 20 other similar reviews. Please beware

In my opinion, Dr. Gupton must be among the top 3 orthodontists on the East coast. She has an extremely in-depth technical knowledge of dentistry and is also super attentive, warm and caring. Her office is a 2 min walk from the Ft. Washington SEPTA station. I live in Philadelphia (Center City) and I had no issues reaching her office via a 20 min train ride. I went through a full - 2 year long - orthodontic treatment. Very happy with the result and with the continued/lifelong follow up support!

Dr. Gupton and her entire staff were terrific. Never waited more than a few minutes. Dr. Gupton (and her staff) will do everything she can to provide you with your best smile and teeth. I would highly recommend her to anyone needed Orthodontic work or Invisalign braces.

I would not go back

In my opinion, the orthodontic results that I had thru Dr. Gupton were very poor.

My experience was very trouble some. Had to have two root canals while having my braces done here. I had the braces on for 3 years and was not satisfied with my results. What a disappointment.

I do not recommend this orthodontist. One of the worst decisions I've ever made. I had to have my braces totally redone by another orthodontist.

I have found Dr. Gupton to be very qualified and talented. I trust her advice and I don't feel as if she gives unneccesary treatment. 4 of my 5 children have been very successfully treated by her. Her staff is amazing and they have all been with her for years. It is a comfortable family atmosphere.
