Nickel and Dimed
We were patients of Dr. Vali's since he opened....I'd say over 6 years. We appreciated the cleanliness of the location and the parking. This may be true for many dentists, but Dr. Vali adds up the fees. You need to watch out. We went in for a simple cleaning and left with some type of cavity prevention-coating (on teeth he already covered in a previous appointments) and a bill totaling over $500---we felt duped. He is even a participating provider with our insurance. That was the final straw. The ladies who all work for him are all nice and sweet, but it's a revolving door since Dr. Vali's bedside manner is quite gruff.

A Nightmare
My 5 year old daughter has a lot of anxiety when it comes to the dentist, which the practice was very aware of. During her most recent visit, they tried to x-ray her teeth, to which she had a complete meltdown. Dr. Mohammadi came into the room following the incident and completely shamed her. He told her to chill out and ”go cry to daddy in the waiting room”. When I had had enough and told him not to speak to her that way, he told me I should check my parenting skills as the likely cause for her “behavioral issues”. I don’t know another pediatric dentist, doctor or nurse who would qualify anxiety as a behavioral issue and certainly not relay that message in front of the child. I am disgusted by Dr. Mohammad’s behavior and I am disappointed that others working at the practice allow this to continue. I hope that other kids and their parents do not have to have this experience.

HAS NO RIGHT BEING A DENTIST - DISGUSTING
If I could give them zero stars I would. I am absolutely disgusted with my experience on 7/8. My daughter was there for a regular cleaning in April. She just turned 5 and is extremely nervous. They could not get X-rays due to her crying so we decided to come back and use laughing gas. Today was DISGUSTING. They took the mask placed it on her nose as she was screaming and said "OHHHH STOP IT, PUT YOUR BIG GIRL PANTS ON, CLOSE YOUR MOUTH AND BREATH FROM YOUR NOSE. THIS IS NOT THAT SCARY" He then proceed to grab her cheeks and chin and push her head up in order to take the X-rays. SHAME on you for calling yourself a pediatric dentist- clearly you work with children and you have now made my daughters experience worse. After the X-rays they noted that she had a cavity and needed work done. He suggested a crown in which they would put her to sleep!!! He then stated "OH THE PRICE ISN'T TERRIBLE PROBABLY AROUND $1,200 FOR THE ANESTHESIA PLUS THE WORK, SHOULD BE DOABLE"

He traumatized my daughter and his bedside manner is awful. He forces unnecessary procedures for baby teeth that eventually were falling out in few months. He would charge for procedures my insurance have covered. It was constant bills when my insurance paid for all. He was nasty and always quick to throw you out of his office rather than seeing proof of insurance payment. Don’t know how he’s still practicing.

Dr Vali has no business dealing with TOTS (tethered oral tissues). We made the mistake of using him and hope other parents can be saved from making the same mistake. He misdiagnosed our son’s oral ties. We saw his myofunctional therapis before the procedure who said that our son did indeed have a tongue tie in addition to lip/buccal ties but that the tongue’s function was ok and didn’t need to be revised at this time. She said that if a lactation specialist saw a need for the revision that they would do it at no cost. We proceeded to see TWO different lactation specialists both referred by their office that both felt the tongue was restricted and needed to be released. Dr Vali’s response was dismissive, defensive and even dishonest, stating that the lactation specialist spoke to him directly and said the function was fine. He offered to do the procedure anyway but at a “discounted” rate (after saying it would be free). Beware. All this man cares about is $$ not people.

3 weeks ago, Dr. Vali and his office staff saved my child's life. My sons, now going on 12 and 15, grew up in Summerfield Pediatrics from their infancies. Divorce hit a few years ago and I had to unhappily downgrade health insurance and find a different practice. Summerfield Peds is part of my cherished memories of my sons' childhoods...my little guys racing over to the child-friendly bright chairs and modern playroom, giggling on their way out with their funky new sunglasses and sugar-free lollipops. But most of all, there was Dr. Vali with his huge smile and infectious laugh, putting the boys at ease in a dentist's chair and boom! - cleanest, healthiest teeth with no pain and world class care. When my son's mouth became severely infected I had no oral surgeon. I called Dr. Vali's office and he called me from his VACATION faster than the speed of light, arranged all of my sons's medical care, and to be frank - spent his entire vacation caring for my son. THIS is a doctor. xoxo

I take my daughter to this dental office since she had her first dental visit. I have found Dr. Mohammadi very professional and he answered all my questions. He was patient and his demeanor made my daughter feel secure. His staff is very courteous and accommodating. The office is set up nicely with a play area for the children while they wait to be seen.

Long waiting time (45min, 15min, 50 min..) which was quite challenging when coming in with kids. Received a surprise call after 6 months that we owe a lot more $. Each procedure had been verified with insurance and we knew how much we would owe and settled it. 6 months later we got a call that there was a mistake and we owe much more that we had initially paid. The doctors were friendly and the set up is nice, but the parents' experience has a lot to wish for. Update: I have been getting multiple calls, voicemails and emails from Dt. Vali requesting that I remove the above review. He was very rude to my husband on the call demanding I remove the review. I was overcharged at the last visit, and I was told that my reimbursement won't be issued till I remove the review. They also added extra $500 charge, claiming that it's from 7 months ago. (Which had been discussed with theoffice, as it was erroneously billed and waived as a correction). They send me an email threatening to send it t

Dr. Mohammadi diagnosed my 5 year with 6 cavities (correctly.) He insisted that, due to her “high anxiety levels,” they would have to put her under general anesthesia. When I asked if we could try nitrous, he was adamant that he knew children, he had been doing the job for a long tome, and my child was just not a candidate. Flash forward to a second pediatric dentist (in White Plains), and they were able to do the entire procedure using only nitrous. Dr. Mohammadi’s office quoted us a price of nearly $3000 (which did not include the cost of the anesthesiologist) for a procedure that was not required. My experience: this dentist does not appear to have children’s’ best interest in mind, but appear to opt for expediency and up charge. I can not recommend this office to anyone.
