Made a traumatic event so much worse. Lacks any kind of compassion, common sense, parenting experience, basic communication, social or de-escalation skills. It was a slow night in the ER, my son was in shock (and embarrassed, exhausted, as was I) after terrible accident in which he broke all kinds of rules. The nurses seemed irritated with my presence & son said something like "it's fine just go" and the nurses asked me to leave like this was a serious request. "MA'AM, MA'AM!" The doctor treated me like a drug addict, which drugs or getting drugs isn't even relevant to this scenario. I left to tow the car, hoping I was over-reacting and read this wrong, expecting them to communicate in a "it takes a village" kind of way. I never received a phone call regarding the results, regarding anything...they even discharged him hours later with no one there for him! And... as they let my 16 year old walk away, they asked him if "that" was his mom and if he was "okay" with me.
