Psychiatry South

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Psychiatry South and feel compelled to share my concerns. Despite completing an extensive amount of paperwork prior to my appointment, the level of professionalism during my visit was shockingly low. Throughout the entire consultation, the psychiatrist remained fixated on their laptop, merely asking questions and recording my responses without ever making eye contact or showing a hint of personal engagement. This lack of personal touch and apparent disinterest in creating a comforting environment for patients was distressing and completely unacceptable in a psychiatric care setting. I have decided not to return and would caution anyone who is considering this office, especially if you've been referred by your primary care physician. I strongly recommend seeking a different psychiatrist for a more empathetic and professional experience.

Avoid this practice like the plague! The physicians here are phenomenal, but they are overshadowed by the most obtuse, rude, & belligerent office staff. I was a patient here for three years and saw the issues firsthand. My last straw with this office is that they are willing to charge patients for “missed” appointments the patient never asked for or scheduled, and then call the police when the patient tries to resolve the billing issues. When I tried on SIX separate occasions to resolve the billing issues (on phone, in person, through their portal, etc.) over the course of four weeks ending on June 30th, the office manager called the Hoover PD and claimed they told me not to come to the office (they did not). The office manager is fraudulently creating appointments the patients never ask for, and then charging “no-show” fees she will never discuss with patients (among other accounting errors on bills).
