Novaspine Pain Institute

It was my normal monthly visit for my pain review and how it's going. I got a very nice surprise I did not expect. Victoria introduced me to Ashley from Medtronics. Ashley will be assisting Dr. Baker while doing the implant. I was able to ask Ashley any questions or if I had any fears etc. It was a real treat to meet her before the procedure and knowing she will be there will help. I already have a huge trust factor with Dr. Baker so all should be great when surgery date gets here.

Nova Spine has handled many of my pain issues. They are always accommodating in scheduling my appointments.

During my initial visit at Nova Spine, I found Dr. Malayl to be very compassionate, caring and competent. My subsequent visits have been with his PA Gianni Moshero. The last visit felt more like an interrogation than a doctor's visit. I got the impression that he believed I was untruthful and untrustworthy. In my 86 years I have never had such an experience with a doctor.He seemed troubled that my urine test from the previous month showed oxycodone while there was no evidence of hydrocodone which he had prescribed. I had a few of the oxys left from my prior provider and decided to finish that Rx. Then I continued with the hydro as needed but apparently had not needed a dose prior to my urine test. His perception of me as untrustworthy is further evidenced by his requirement for urine tests. I am accustomed to a common standard of a Dr. visit every month and urine test every 3 mos. He has required a urine test every month. Then after the last visit wanted me back in one week.
