I had an unprofessional and distressing experience with dr Mendez at Sunrise Loveland dental clinic in march 2025 when I took my 8-year old son to have his baby tooth extracted because the adult tooth was already growing in above it. My son is neurodivergent and has an extreme fear of needles so we did not want a local anesthetic. However, Dr. Mendez attempted to administer it without even consulting me first. This disregard for parental and patient consent is unacceptable and highly unprofessional. Furthermore, his hands were visibly shaking, and he appeared uncomfortable working with children, raising concerns about his competence.To make matters worse, when we insisted on proceeding without an anesthetic, Dr. Mendez refused to perform the extraction. Since when does a patient have no say in what medication or what procedure they want done on their body? Finally, he said he’ll do it without an anesthetic but if my son moves even once, he won’t continue which is ridiculous. After
