GOODMAN CAMPBELL BRAIN AND SPINE

I would not recommend Goodman Campbell; my surgeon was fine and I had no complications afterward, but the clerical staff was dangerously bad. I have a potentially fatal allergy to general anesthetic called malignant hyperthermia. I put this on my initial form; the nurse aide changed it to "lidocaine allergy." I asked her to change it; my next visit it wasn't changed. This went on. Finally, my surgery was scheduled for an outpatient surgery center. I told the scheduling person, "You know I have malignant hyperthermia, right?" She acted shocked, said that meant the surgery had to be done at a hospital. It delayed my surgery considerably. On the day of my surgery, the surgeon himself hands me my "pre-op instructions" -- an hour before my surgery. Not very helpful. I had taken ibuprofen the night before, etc. He proceeded with the surgery. I could list numerous other clerical mishaps. My impression is the surgeons are great, the staff is arrogant and complacent.
