VPA
If you’re fortunate enough to get someone to answer the phone, that individual will tell you they have transmitted your message to the doctor/nurse and that is where your assistance will end. Don’t expect a return call. Asking for a prescription refill was nearly impossible. VPA would claim it had been sent to the pharmacy, but they usually didn't have it, or the pharmacy would say the prescription was missing information from the doctor. The pharmacy would attempt to reach out to VPA and would not get responses. When looking for an organization like VPA, you are likely homebound. Homebound patients cannot simply call their physician and get worked in for an appointment, jump in the car and go. If you become ill don’t expect assistance from VPA in time to recover. No matter which method of communication you use, no matter how many times you try, be prepared to send your loved one to the hospital to get the care they need. You’re at VPA's mercy and they have none.

We contacted VPA to start home visits for my uncle. They called and verified his insurance information. Then said they would call to make an appointment in48 hours. That was TWO WEEKS AGO!!!! So I called again 11-04-21 and was left on hold for 58 minutes to get the appointment, they never answered, but then did pick up the line and hung up onme!!!
