Practice

I felt the practice was misleading regarding the anticipated cost of my cataract surgery . Although the procedure was scheduled almost two months in advance I was contacted 2 days prior to my surgery date and told I had to pay almost $500 dollars prior to the procedure and the same amount in two weeks prior to surgery on my second eye. I had to cancel the procedure because I couldn’t pay that amount on two day notice. I feel I should have been informed of the cost when the procedure was scheduled to allow time to make arrangements for the payment. As a result of the last minute cancellation my daughter also missed a full day of work because she had taken off to accompany me to the surgery. The entire experience has made me question if the surgery was necessary at this time. I plan to obtain my records and seek a second opinion.
