I have been a patient for SEVERAL years and always mindlessly paid the 'contact fitting' fee at checkout. Today after not being 'fitted' for contacts since my prescription has not changed in probably 3 years. I informed the cashier that I did not have a fitting and that I shouldn't be charged the $60 fee. They were not amused and brought out the contact specialist who inaccurately cited State law as the reason. Well after some research and a call back I was able to explain to the 'professionals' that a contact fitting is not required every year by State law and that their website mentioned a $40 fitting fee for existing customers and not $60 which according to the website is for new customers. Well then the customer service representative changed her tune and told me that I was charged $60 because of my complicated prescription. Interestingly, I wear only one -3.0 correction lens and have for several years! Not too complicated if you ask me. Please review your charges if you choose to
