Barre Family Health Center

I have visited Barre Family Health Center for well over a decade now, and the multiple incidents I have witnessed first hand of those working here showing kindness, providing TLC to their charges, showing due courteousness to others ... just a few things one notices over time. For sure, I've read less-than-stellar reviews about BFHC, but those complaining of being essentially ignored, etc etc - I think one very HELPFUL thing to keep in mind is ....with the small handful of PCPs here added onto the EIGHT THOUSAND patients they see in a given year ... folks, compromise is in order here! Further, what patients NEED to do is WRITE DOWN objectives BEFORE they see their Doc or PA ... the more detail, the better. YES, PCPs have HUGE amounts of rules, etc that they MUST follow ... and a patient demanding that they refill medications BEFORE being seen again miss the point here entirely. All things said, I think BFHC does the best with what they have. And it shows in the places of the heart too.

I recently changed primary care physicians, as I had moved from Grafton to Petersham and wanted to be closer to my provider. I’ve been to BFHC twice now, and each time I was treated warmly by a friendly intake staff. My waiting time to see my provider hasn’t been more than 5 minutes, so props for good scheduling. My provider, CNP N. Hartnett, saw me promptly and was an excellent listener. She spent over 30 minutes with me, and I never felt rushed in any way. I actually enjoyed my visit and hope to be able to use this facility for a long time.
