I am currently 10 years out from my admission to Brighton hospital. I have been reflecting back on my life prior to my admission there. I never believed that my life could change so dramatically. I was addicted to Fentanyl, suicidal and at the lowest point in my life. I had lost my job and close to losing my nursing license. The support and skills I learned there saved my life. The program turned my life around completely. I sit here today and realize that I am the antitheses of the human I once was. My life is truly good. My thinking is clear and for the most part positive. I love being alive to enjoy the world around me. I can’t express the gratitude I feel for that experience. Where there is hope, there is life.
