Wake Spine and Pain Specialists

I've been seeing Dr. Hertzberg for years. I'm switching to a different practice because the front desk cannot perform the simplest of duties. I called after a night of stomach issues at 3am to cancel. How do you cancel an 8am appointment when you are sick??? I let messages for the practice manager, and no return call. Ever. Billed $50 for a 'no show' when my husband heard me make the 3am call. Dr. Hertzberg is wonderful, but I will no longer deal with the inept staff. The turnover for staff is horrendous.

I'm a retired physician. I have left Wake Spine and Pain not due the quality and competence of their clinic staff, but due the incompetence and rudeness of their front office staff. After several encounters where they did not explain a coverage problem, or a late/no-show policy that was implemented between my visits, bad(inadequate) follow-up questions, A staff member lecturing me on the late/no-show policy for 10 minutes with a very hostile attitude. If I ever heard one of my staff members speaking to a patient in that manner, they would have been terminated in seconds. Their providers (at least the ones I met) are excellent, but their front office staff is completely unacceptable and incompetent.
