I had no issue with the provider I saw but I did learn something new. Novant will charge Medicare patients who come in for a wellness check a 'new patient' fee if it is your first visit to the practice. This is was what I was told when I questioned the extra billing and someone from Novant called me on the phone. I wish they would just say 'Put your hands up over your head. This is a stickup' when I went in to begin with.

I called this morning to see if my husband could be seen today. I was asked his name and birthdate which I gave. The scheduler said the only time he could be seen was at 1:15. I told her that would be fine. I explained his symptoms and stated that he had previously had an appendectomy so we knew that wasn’t the problem she stated once again that the time would be 1:15 and I said once again that would be fine. I said we’ll see you later and then said bye. Once my husband went into the appointment she said he didn’t have an appointment and that I hung up. That is NOT true.
