A situation that shouldn't have happened
I'm a current patient on medication for panic disorder. My doctor recently, without my knowledge, reduced one of my prescriptions. When I questioned this, I was met with excuses and lack of information from his nurse. I was told to wait for a follow-up call that never came. After multiple attempts to get answers, I was still unable to speak to my doctor or get a clear explanation without making yet another appointment. I conceded and made an appointment telling them it was an emergency; the appointment was made for a week and a half away. This is a warning to all prospective patients: they can change your medication without your knowledge, and you will probably have make another appointment to get any answers. Remember, your 'emergency' may not be their priority. Document all interactions with your doctor's office to protect your rights to proper care.
