Was given a referral here, but I could not find them listed on insurance website. However, the insurance always says to check with the doctor office to get the latest information as to coverage. I spoke with 3 different people at the office who all told me they took my insurance. I paid an $80 copay. I mentioned the insurance question in the room, and was told, 'I assure you, you would not have gotten past the front office if we did not take you insurance.' I spoke with the doctor for 5 minutes and was told I needed a colonoscopy. 2 weeks later, they called me to say they don't take my insurance and that I would have to pay $1800 for the procedure and the office visit would cost $200. I cancelled the colonoscopy. I called the billing office to request a refund of the $80 copay and they refused. They said 'Mistakes happen'. Why should I be responsible for your mistake?
