Ithaca Dentistry

I called to set up an appointment for my child at this office and was initially told they were accepting new patients. I wanted to go ahead and schedule with them and was then asked “why” I was making an appointment at least 3 times (I said no dental issues, just a routine cleaning and exam, etc?) and further explained I wanted to find a local provider vs driving out of town. I was then advised to call another office and was given the number for a pediatric dentist (also, the pediatric dentist recommended ended up being terrible). I’ve never in my life had a receptionist for a business tell me to go somewhere else, and it did not seem professional to dictate where my child’s care should be. Not sure whats going on in this office that their own staff turns potential clients away. It was not an insurance issue either as I am self pay.

We were told on the phone and in person that our insurance would reimburse our children’s very basic cleanings. They “do it all the time.” We were not reimbursed nearly $200. Extremely disappointed. Not sure if it is complete incompetence or complete dishonesty. Either way, we are going to a different dentist.
