I've had chronic back pain from a car accident in 1990. I've had all sorts of chiropractic work over the decades and seen surgeons that wanted to do fusion. I was waiting for something other than fusion so years went by. I saw Dr. Shen's advertainment related to stem cells and was excited to look into that. A few weeks later I had the surgery to clean up my spine and inject my own stem cells into the discs. I walked out of the hospital feeling fine. It took about a week for the surgical cut to feel better but all of my grinding bone and nerve pain was gone instantly. I've been assessing my recovery now for the last 7 weeks and I am soo impressed that I just don't have pain...My physical and emotional health has improved drastically because of this surgery. I actually feel like I'm normal again without pain 24/7. I am VERY appreciative of this surgery and feel I have a new lease on life now.

Doctor Shen is a brilliant, kind and professional doctor who not once but twice brought back my movement and quality of life by fixing herniated disks in my back. He listens, talks you though everything and truly is a master at his profession. I am thankful for him and his entire team/staff!

I had hurt my neck 20+ years ago and lived with the disc herniations, pain flare ups, and other symptoms. This past year it turned into constant pain, like you just want it to end. Some of my family and friends recommended Dr. Shen to us. Although his practice in Amsterdam is 1 1/2 hours from our home, and his office is close to 2 hours, it was worth the travel. He is kind, caring, and willing to take his time with you answering your questions, telling you what his course of action will be and what you can expect afterwards. It's been about a month now and the constant pain is gone, not to say it has been easy. It took 2 weeks for the surgical pain to lessen enough to just be on Motrin, another week to stop that and since then just when I do too much do I take anything for pain. I am now doing therapy with the help of YouTube videos and that is helping get back up on my feet. Also worth mentioning his staff are professional and helpful.
