Terrible Bedside Manner / Incompetent Staff
I was run over by an SUV while in a crosswalk, severely injuring my foot, skull, and left side. Discharged from the ER with unclear instructions, I sought help the next day. Upper East Side Orthopaedics was able to see me, but they insisted I needed a referral which I later learned was incorrect. I explained my situation and that my ankle and foot were run over by an SUV tire. I asked if they were sure they could see me with such a traumatic injury. They assured me they could. Arriving with makeshift frozen pea ice packs (because the drugstore was out) and in a wheelchair, Dr. Andrew L. Rosen scoffed at my condition, kicked out of the room my friend who was assisting me, rebuked my pain reactions, and deemed my injuries beyond his skill. He couldn't believe I came to him rather than a hospital and said to go elsewhere.The treatment at Upper East Side Orthopaedics by Dr. Rosen was abysmal; their staff needs training and Dr. Rosen, empathy.
