Crouse Health Hospital

I spent 3 nights in early 2024 at Crouse Hospital-Syracuse after major surgery. My room was across from the nurse's station but when my 1st-night roommate screamed incessantly for help, having arrived via ER because she was suicidal, they were largely unresponsive. I stayed up all night calming her when she should have been in a psychiatric facility and I should have been in bed healing! Same with the roommate I had the 2nd/3rd nights; she was disabled, unable to move. I had to call on nurses to turn her and provide other basic care. They were mainly oblivious or testy. My situation often wasn't communicated from shift to shift. They didn't know about my pain med needs, and on discharge I learned they didn't properly log the pills I'd taken. My room and bathroom were dirty. The hallways were loud. My husband, horrified, demanded accountability; the 'investigation' results were laughable. This is a quality-of-care nightmare straight out of the Twilight Zone, rotten from the TOP down.
