I was not disclosed full side effects of a medication prescribed to my child when I inquired about them. I researched and asked for a risk vs reward analysis of prescribing said medication based on family history and was blown off. Apparently the primary function of the medication would have no effect but would be helpful for the off label usage it was prescribed for? I asked why medication was prescribed, if testing had been done that warranted such action. There were no issues that I was made aware of and I was confused why this decision was made without my input or any notification from the office about a medication being prescribed. I have been to every appointment except this one and asked for my feedback every step of the way until now. I was told not to involve the doctor's office in our parenting issues (me and his dad have joint custody). This is the most unprofessional way you could have handled my questions and concerns. This is how you treat parents to want to be educated?
