Lack of respect for patient care.
The “Billing department” as she referred to herself sitting at the Front Desk, decided an unresolved copay was worth provoking an emotionally unstable patient with idle threats and belligerence. The practices “NO TOLERANCE” policy should be a two way street. The one lady “billing department” had the audacity to tell a young mother “Well if you learned how to regulate your emotions and be civil; you would be a better person.” Yes this is a perfect example from someone in the Mental Healthcare field.Threatening to cancel an appointment and there by deny access to mood stabilizing medication is a phenomenal de-escalation technique certain to benefit the patient.
