Innovative Implant and Oral Surgery

The dental care which was completing an extraction and a bone graft in preparation for an implant was fine. However, the billing policies of this practice are insulting. The visit lasted 20 minutes and we were required to pay before the visit. Presumably if you don’t pay up front, they won’t treat you. The office had quoted us a price ($1700) over the phone but when we arrived we were told the price was $1900. When we questioned this, the staff said the dentist may need to take an x-ray. We said why do we need to pay in advance for something that might be needed and that our regular dentist had sent an x-ray. We paid $1700 up front. We then asked for a copy of the documentation submitted to the dental insurance. That paperwork said they had charged us $1625 so it seems that they make up the prices when you arrive. We were refunded $75. for the overbilling. The worst thing was our dental insurance required a statement of periodontal disease which they refused to provide.
