I had a miscarriage three years ago. After my first appointment with Penn OB GYN, I started bleeding. I called them and told them what was going on. They had me get another ultrasound at another location and confirmed I was miscarrying. I made another appointment. When I called to confirm my upcoming appointment, I was told it had been canceled because I wasn't considered pregnant anymore. I was still bleeding, so I made another appointment, which was canceled, too. The administrator said my appointments were canceled because I wasn't considered pregnant anymore and that they 'didn't have a code for that.' After miscarrying for seven days, I started bleeding out. My husband took me to Chester County ER, where they removed the baby that was stuck just outside my cervix, causing severe pain and hemorrhaging. Despite having great health insurance, I could not get care for Mother Nature's decision. I advise having backup care in place if you choose to get care here.
