Howsden Dermatology

I've been a patient of Dr. Patel for several years, and have never heard a negative remark about Howsden, Dr. Patel is always ready to listen to questions and provide excellent service. I know several people who use him and are very satisfied with his dermatology procedures. No, he is not a plastic surgeon or cosmetic specialist who caters to the rich and famous, but a great dermatologist for the rest of us.

March 2022 Dr. Kia prescribed Dupixent for my eczema on the bottom of my foot, making every step very painful. He explained the process would take forever. It did. Received first shot in August. Then, shots stopped coming in October. Started calling the specialty pharmacy, Dupixent nurse line, my insurance company, Howsden. The lady at Howsden yelled at me (learned she is gone now.) No one could tell me why it stopped or what I needed to do. You know what? Eczema was gone, so I put it on back burner. All good… until eczema returns the week before a 16-day vacation to Europe with daily walking tours. I call Dr. Kia’s office. A very nice lady calls me on Saturday and tells me she is going to help me get in this week for a sample shot. Yes, the reps give them tons of free samples! Then, ice storm hits… closed, closed, closed. Finally make contact Friday afternoon. I am told that Dr. Kia will see me, but because it has been almost a year, he will insist on run

The return call procedure to set up an appointment is simply inexcusable. Six (6) calls were made, each asked to leave them a message. I was NEVER able to make contact with an office representative. How is this an appropriate way to conduct business? It is outrageous and sugnifies a complete disregard for patients attempting to set up an appointment. I suggest an alternative clinic that will actually TAKE A CALL.
