I have had peripheral neuropathy since 1999 and have tried all sorts of diagnoses and treatments. The pain has steadily increased since then and has proportionally impacted my quality of life. I gave up on finding the cause about 5 years ago, and instead developed a pain management program (in conjunction with my long standing PCP and neurologist) that is becoming increasing ineffective over time so I wanted to checkin with specialist to see if there was anything new. I was looking for a Pain Domain knowledge management expert, not for a diagnosis. I simply wanted a consult. When Dr. Mukala walked in I felt like I was under attack and that I had somehow offended him. It went downhill from there. I actually tried to leave twice. He said things that were flat wrong and contradicted himself as well. I felt was ridiculed and disrespected the whole time, along with my doctors. I don't have room to detail. It ended with his giving me a St. Jude prayer card. I would advise you elsewhere.
