The provider I had spoke at me, not with me. He deminished me with his comments and refusaI to believe I knew my body's reactions better than he did. I asked for and was promised a female doctor. I was given a male which being a victim of domestic violence years ago was not good for me. I was a very difficult experience for me. I will never go back. For the most part I was treated like a child.The nurses and other staff are wonderful, they saw I was upset and talked with me and made me feel better.The concept is a good one but there has to be better communication and ways to change providers when there is conflict. Also, if the managers promise to get back with you, they should in a timely manner. I was treated with disrespect by one provider. I hope that provider learns what words and actions can do to a patient. I would go home having a panic attack and only made it to 3 visits when I refused to return. Be honest for what you need in a provider. Be your own advocate!
