Philip L. Griffin (Maple Valley/ABHC Bellevue)
I saw him when I was around 21 years old, as a closeted LGBTx individual. I did not disclose this at first but regret informing him immediately after I did. He proceeded to ask me if I saw my Psychiatrist, Dr. Veena Prabhakar (a female) attractive, and that 'she was aesthetically appealing, wasn't she?' I immediately shut down, feeling incredibly uncomfortable. The next session, he asked me for the records for my other treatment, and when I asked why that would be necessary for my treatment with him. he said it was necessary because he felt it necessary. I thought he was joking and laughed. 'Goodbye....' was his response. Looking back, and at a different time in my life, I view this as predatory and victimizing behavior. I am disgusted, in his manner, and am grateful I was only briefly in his care. I later discovered he was a Religious-based counselor, and unfortunately that explains his incongruent attitude once I came out to him.
