Never again will I ever go to a Marshfield Medical Center! I was billed $500 for 5 minutes with the doctor.I visited this location in July with a fairly obvious case of pinkeye. I just needed some antibiotic drops. The doctor took one look at me and wrote the prescription. He was in the room with me for less than five minutes. I got the eye drops from the pharmacy and went on my way. I received a bill from Marshfield Clinic for $275, which I thought was quite a high amount. I have been to urgent care facilities numerous times for my children, and I have never received a bill for that much. Imagine my shock when I received another bill a few weeks later for another $223.10! I called the number because I was sure there had been some mistake. I was told that the bill was correct because the first bill was for the faciility, and the second bill was for the doctor. I went through the appeal process, and nothing was ever adjusted. $500 for a 5 minute visit for pinkeye is unreasonable.
