the oncologist wrote me off
I was at CAMC in Charleston in September 2020. The emergency room staff was great they told me i had cancer and would have to be admitted. The next morning the oncologist came to see me the next morning and told me he didn't have time to do the biopsy and i would have to come back later. I told him no If i left i would go somewhere else. so he got a pulmonologist to do it. When the biopsy came back it was stage 4 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The oncologist told me it would be 3 weeks before he could work me in and than the appointment would be with his PA. I ended up in another hospital in 2 days and began treatments. The oncologist there told me i wouldn't have made 2 more weeks..
What went well
  • Staff friendliness
What could be improved
  • Difficult to schedule appointment
