Sensitve, personal care
Dr. Amos is a very caring physician. He sees both myself and my husband and we agree that he always takes as much time as you need to answer questions and explain diagnosis-treatments. We recommend him without hesitation!

Less is more!!!
Dr Amos has been providing me with my urology care for many years (30 or more). He is very kind, easy going, professional and thorough. He has seen me through 3 kidney stones (2 of which required surgery). Thank God for him during those times! He has stayed in close touch through regular visits, regular PSA exams, lab work, and prostate checks. I really don’t enjoy those necessary probes, BUT…(I really appreciate his small fingers. At those times, “Less ie more!” I am proud to call him my Urologist.

Office manager Kristie gets bad grade
Dr. Amos is a gem and I highly recommended him. BUT the office staff need education and training. I was on hold for almost 15 minutes for a simple insurance question. When I asked to speak to the office manager (Kristie) she defended it like it was totally normal to make a patient wait that long. I’m starting to think I was lied to and she really isn’t the office manager. Anyway…. I wish these doctors knew how important their front line office staff is to their reputation. Kristie needs an inservice on good customer service. I will not continue with Dr. Amos because I just can’t deal with rude and ignorant office staff.

Excellent Health Care Provider
I have been a patient of Dr. Amos for about ten years. I really appreciate his approach. I feel he really listens to me, he carefully explains treatment options well, and he listens to and answers my questions. I feel safe being under his care, and you can't say much better than that.

4 days after seeing the doctor and numerous phone calls later in an attempt to get a prior authorization approved for a prescription all I got was responses that never resulted in my prescription. Each time I was told by the person answering the phone that the nurse was working on the prior authorization and that I would be called ; that never happened and now it’s 4 or 5 days later and no medicine and no one reaching out to me. I hope this review gets to the Dr Amos .

When you are in the office, everything is fantastic. after surgery, I called to try and get a hold of someone in the office. Never got anyone from his office to call me, I even left messages with emergent and nothing. I finally had to call USMD to file a complaint and when I got some one this individual told me that someone would get a hold of me in minutes. I did get a call from his office manager. Well she explained to me that they were waiting on my pathology report and she would call me back. Some one did call me back, just to get a post op appointment together. I asked her about my pathology report and she didn't have access. I tried to call the manager, well she hung up on me then I called again and she told me she was busy because they were setting up to move. She then went on to say she was going to have some one call me and again no one called me. I will never come here again. Extremely unprofessional and unorganized. Patient care is not the center of their pratice.

Worried for others – Nov 18, 2020
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Amos?
I'll start with saying I am picky about Dr's and how they communicate. That said, I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Amos. He tells me everything I need to know & then some, answers all my questions, clearly explains all options & possible outcomes, plus provides me with medical background (statistics) for everything I ask him about. He did my vasectomy & is currently treating me for possible prostate cancer.

I have been seeing Dr. Amos for about 7 years. I have never encountered a better, more compassionate physician in my life! He explains everything in just the right amount of detail and guides you through treatment options. The USMD system; however, is lacking. It takes forever to get through the bureaucracy with someone as simple as “Can you confirm my appointment”. You have to navigate through a phone menu system that takes at least 30 seconds just to give you the options. Then when you finally talk to a human, it’s worse than going through an FBI background investigation just to get a promise for a return call (which never is returned is more cases than returned). I tolerate the USMD system just because I think Dr. Amos is superb and I’m convinced that once I finally get to see him, I can ask for none finer. Thank you Dr Amos for being the wonderful doctor you are.

Dr Amos has nice office staff that does a great job in being kind, helping patients feel valued, and meeting the patient's needs. The lobby in clean and in order. Dr Amos did a thorough examination and explained my thought-out options better than I had expected. He sat down and thoroughly explained what my options were, what can be expected, and benefits/risks of each, writing it out legibly on a sheet of paper to add a personal touch. He is a great listener, patient-centered, & efficient. :)
