Arrogant and Rude
I'm not sure as to where I want to begin it was such a terrible visit. I took my daughter after getting referred by her primary for concerns about her having cushings. Dr. Bussey was very arrogant and assuming during our one visit. He assumed that since my daughter is a little heavy that she eats junk food and doesn't do anything like other teens. She's almost 21 which isn't a teen! He then goes on to say she's always struggled with her weight but she hasn't. He has since completely dismissed her having PCOS from lab results. If he is as smart as he portrays himself then he'd know that labs don't always show PCOS. We have an ultrasound that shows her having PCOS but of course he dismissed that as well. I definitely would never recommend this dr to anyone.

Caring and Attentive
Dr. Bussey took all the time I needed to explain issues and set my mind at ease. His confidence and knowledge is reassuring. The staff was so friendly and helpful from scheduling to the front office to his assistant. I felt heard and well cared for.

Great Doctor!
The endocrinologist I had seen for 32 years retired so I switched to Dr Bussey who is in the same practice but in a different, more convenient location. I have been very pleased with him and his staff He had large shoes to fill as I loved Dr Law, Jr.

Billing Charges
We saw Dr. Bussey for about 15 minutes, very nice and knowledgable. When appt was scheduled I was advised to pay $150.00 deposit due to insurance, I was not advised this was due too high deductible nor the cost for a new patient visit. With other specialists I was always given an approximate amount for new patient. I received the bill & was charged for New Patient Level 4 ($396.49) to my shock. I spoke to the office regarding this charge & advised they only provide estimate costs to patient without insurance & do not have enough staff to provide cost to patients with insurance. I questioned a Level 4 Patient & advised if a patient will be under medicine management this would be classified as a Level 4 which New Patient cost is higher than someone not put on medication. How is this OK, when a Primary Physician can provided a script and also monitor? This was a 1st visit, if patients are classified at Level 1 - Level 5, the patients should be advised of level cost differences.

Love him!
Dr. Bussey treated me with honesty, respect, and took the time to do a thorough exam and consultation. I normally am very nervous about visiting doctors. I was treated terribly by a previous endocrinologist and decided to give it a second try. Dr. Bussey made it a second try worth taking!

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Bussey?
Dr. Bussey is incredibly rude. He is condescending to his patients, defensive when you call him out for his attitude, and he does not listen to his patients' concerns-- rather, he seems to want the appointment over with as quickly as possible, so instead of earnestly talking with the patient about different options, he almost seems to present an ultimatum in a standoffish manner with no consideration for what the patient is trying to communicate. His nurses are typically great, but any interaction with him feels like time lost, because he makes you feel more like another diabetic statistic rather than a diabetic individual. Overall, attitude goes a long way in creating a trusting doctor-patient relationship, and he is incredibly lacking in this department.

The very first visit with him he told me that I was a prime candidate for gastric bypass surgery and really was not interested in anything else that I had to say. After a few visits and constantly being berated about my weight, I left him for another Dr....I lost 6 lbs with the new one....so go figure

Dr. Bussey takes time to understand his patient's needs. He is very kind and understanding. I feel he is an excellent Doctor. Few Drs really take the time to realize what your condition is and what needs to be addressed to remedy your problem. Excellent Dr and very nice person. His staff is wonderful. Highly recommend this office.

Thank you for the positive review.
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Bussey?
Dr. Bussey may be great with diabetes but I would not trust his knowledge for other endocrine issues. His office is nice and his staff is nice but it is his overall inability to admit he doesn't know everything about everything that makes me give him 2 stars. It is ok for a doctor to admit to patient that he needs to confer with other medical professionals for accurate treatment and diagnosis.
