Dr. Aaron Crum, MD

An involuntary admission to an inpatient psych hospital is not a very good time no matter the circumstances, but Dr. Crum really made me feel completely hopeless. He dismissed my concerns, interrupting me and rolling his eyes while I went over my history. He went through the motions of the short appointment. He clearly did not care about me as an individual and kept trying to move the subject of the appointment to routine procedure. He kept trying to end the appointment before I was finished talking to him. At the end of the 15 minute appointment (during which he asked basically no questions about me or my mental status), he gave me a diagnosis that no healthcare provider in my past has given me and that I disagree with. He even went out of his way to lie to the district examiner (the person who decides if you stay longer or go home from the psych hospital). He made it clear that he didn't like me personally. Overall the worst experience I've ever had.

Whilst I was in cottonwood as a 14 year old through September 19th-September 28th, he was one of the worst doctors I've ever had the disdain of dealing with. He came to some girls room arguing with her and telling her to shut up, he restricted me from going to the cafeteria for the longest period of time purposefully. Really messed up unprofessional stuff.

A mediocre psychiatrist on his best day.

Really took time with our son to get to understand what was really going on. Gave awesome insight regarding his diagnoses and the type of meds that would be helpful and that research has shown to be helpful. We were so grateful he was our provider.
