Poor Reception Staff
Dr. Karr and his nurse practitioners are friendly and knowledgeable. However, a reception staff can completely destroy patient opinions. Don't bother trying to call. After about 15 rings, they are going to answer the phone, 'please hold.' You will sit on hold until the phone starts to ring again, and the cycle starts over. All doctor's offices are busy. There is no excuse for this. I was told by one of his nurse practitioners not to bother calling and leaving a message for them because they would never get it. Definitely in need of a good office manager!

Not impressed
Long wait times, I’ve waited up to three hours just to see him, he is a great doctor but most of the time I get tossed to his nurse practitioner, Amanda who I refuse to see because of her rudeness and attitude. I’ve only seen him three times in the past five plus years and I’m tired of the excessive wait times and his nurse practitioner.

Very thorough, compassionate
First visit with him, after moving to Florence. We saw his excellent Nurse Practitioner the week before our visit with Dr Karr. They ordered tests done in his office, so by the time we met with Dr Karr, he had results to discuss with us. We are happy to have his help.

Am not at all happy with his "practice." I have technically been a patient for a year, but have only seen him once. (When I was sick.) Otherwise, his practice runs me through every three months for "blood work." After about an hour in the waiting room (crammed in even with covid). Some nurse says hi, takes my blood pressure. And some lady (after waiting another 30 minutes) takes blood. It is a Medicare puppy mill. They are making LOTS of money. I am getting zero personal care. Their files are all messed up. They can't even find test results in my file from tests I had in their own building. He was nice that one time I met him briefly a year ago. Nurses are nice. Not acceptable in terms of serious care.

He is the only family doctor I trust. He’s a good man and will find the solution to the problem instead of trying to cover it up with a prescription. I told him I was having chest pains and I thought it was stress, it was a rib popped out. Other doctors would have wrote a prescription.
