Dr. Aasia Syed, MD

I’ve been seeing Syed for well over a year. She is frequently late for our appointments, doesn’t listen at all, rushes appointments, and DOES NOT MAINTAIN ADEQUATE OR EVEN MEDIOCRE MEDICAL RECORDS. My records are missing A ton of critical information. If you’re mentally ill and seeking disability, your medical records are absolutely critical. Syed sabotaged my entire case due to lack of details and sparse documentation. Her documentation was not only inconsistent but some of the things noted in my records clearly and very obviously didn’t pertain to me but rather had to be documentation of another patient. She’s terrible. Save yourself the time, money, and false hope of recovering from trauma with her as your doctor. You will get no where but further behind.

Disappointed. I really liked her, however, when she doubled my dose of a medication she forgot to send in a new prescription. When I ran out of it I called her office and they told me they would message her and it would be refilled, but it wasn’t. After several calls, and 10 days later, I finally got my much needed meds. The office canceled my next appointment due to her personal reasons. Which is fine, though frustrating as she will only prescribe new medications during an office visit. Unless you are stable and don’t need changes to your meds, I don’t recommend her due to her unreliability. I feel like it’s more of bad management at the hospital, as there should be a backup doctor to refill prescriptions. But, ultimately, I am her patient and I went 10 days without my much needed medications. It’s been awful having to figure out how to get myself back on the medication.

I have worked with Dr. Syed for nearly a year and can tell you, she is professional, courteous and loves her job. Her love for her job extends to excellent patient care. She is knowledgeable beyond her field of psychiatry and works with patients to care for them on a holistic therapeutic level. You will not be able to find another psychiatrist who gives her all!
