HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE DONT USE HER!
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE- i kept telling her that i had neurological issues- REFUSED to refer me to a Neurologist - 8 months later i have fallen again and now am incontinent and am in a wheelchair!. shes condescending RUDE and just overall dosent care- you are a number with her not an actual person. if you can avoid this surgeon i would highly recommend using someone else unless you want to be paralyzed...

No pleasant things to say.
Very mean and ugly to staff. Very condescending to patient. Look elsewhere for your care, your life may depend on it.

Abby has been great through a very difficult process with a knee replacement, knee revision, and everything that goes along with this process. She has taken such good care of my husband, and is very professional and knowledgeable about the procedure and needed procedures to come. We could not ask for a better staff and doctor to take this journey with.

I loved having Dr. Maxwell as my orthopedic surgeon! I met her after I was brought by ambulance to Asheville’s Mission Hospital. I had fractured my right wrist after a nasty fall from a kitchen counter. I had one bone that actually punctured the skin and the rest was “bone dust,” I was told. Two nurses, on different shifts, commented on how lucky I was that Dr. Maxwell had been on call the night before. First good point...if the orthopedic nurses like her, she’s got to be a good surgeon. Because of the care and success of that operation, I had Dr. Maxwell replace both of my knees the following summer (two separate surgeries). I had been suffering for several years but was nervous about the surgery and finding an surgeon. Both surgeries went very well. As to the comment of her not being “warm and welcoming,” I found her to be both; however, she’s not an “in your face” type of personality (I am). I found her delightful and funny, even though her humor is subtle. She’s a GREAT surgeon!

Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience with Dr. Maxwell. It seems like she diagnosed me correctly, but showed a lack of concern and help with treatment. She was not warm and not welcoming. Also, it was very unprofessional for her to take a phone call during my exam and leave me in the room for a while. I was tempted to leave the office. I felt like they only care about making money off of diagnoses. I'm a health professional myself and will not be referring clients to her!

Very pleasant experience, Dr. Maxwell helped me clear up some sports-related issues in a very nice and professional manner. Would definitely recommend, and am going to continue to visit Dr. Maxwell again in the future.
